Se saisir des politiques d’excellence des établissements pour renforcer la place de la sociologie et des sciences humaines et sociales
Abstract
This article describes the journey of a professor in sociology at an engineering school. Based on daily work situations, it shows the tactics of circumventing the constraints associated with institutional policies to maintain and strengthen the place of sociology and human and social sciences. It depicts the spreading of academic capitalism in this institution and French "Grandes écoles." It reports on the tactical uses of the institution’s ambitions for excellence for the benefit of sociology and the SHS. Finally, it shows what a situated auto-ethnography, restoring the arrangements with the specific constraints of the academic work, brings to a critical analysis of academic capitalism.
