Abstract
In this essay, the author examines La renegada de Valladolid, a burlesque comedy by Francisco Antonio de Monteser, Antonio de Solís y Ribadeneyra and Diego de Silva, performed at the Buen Retiro Coliseum on San Juan’s day in 1655. It specifically offers an interpretation of the play that emphasizes the relevance of its dramatic genre, of its spatio-temporal articulation and, finally, it proposes some hypotheses about its stage performance.
