After decades of suppression of humanity in its most authentic dimensions, the Bessarabian novel of the 60s, starting with Ion Druta’s Frunze de dor, regains its lyricism and revives, via balladic formula, the tender expression of the erotic feeling. Language becomes musical, the syntax gains its freedom of imagination, the spontaneous rhythms of the colloquial defy the anchilos of the non-expressive language. The idyllic, the natural feeling are brought back together with romantic atmosphere of Eden, Frunze de dor pleads not only in favour of the ethic, but also of the aesthetic; it is a massive first breach in the indoctrinated and concrete edifice of the post-war literature in the MSSR.
