Since the early years of the conversion process the priests of the Society of Jesus systematized texts that would enable communication with the Gentiles. While catechesis was being held with people who did not speak the language generally new instruments were produced. So in the late seventeenth century grammar and catechism were published Kiriri. These two documents provide the evidence and traces of cultural mediation process occurred in the backwoods of Portuguese America. Amid the normalization of oral language by Latin grammaticalization filter is also possible to realize the indigenous world. The habits that caused the strangeness priests during his observation period. That were, this article seeks to analyze these documents identifying the methods of standardization of the language Kiriri.
