To promote the application of digital twin technology in power grids, its application in transmission and transformation projects is studied. A general definition of digital twin technology for transmission and transformation project management is given by summarization of the connotation and typical features of the technology. Based on the application backgrounds and targets, a five-dimensional model of digital twin technology for transmission and transformation project management is constructed. By focusing on the analysis of application service dimensions in the five-dimensional model, the paper systematically introduces the specific application methods of digital twin technology in transmission and transformation project management, with business scenarios covering construction process simulation and deduction, safety quality supervision and management, and schedule and cost analysis and early warning. Finally, the current practice and subsequent expansion directions are summarized.
