Numerical analysis of the effect of battery spacing on the heat dissipation of battery

This paper calculated the temperature distribution of battery space from different battery spacing and analysed the influence of battery spacing on the heat dissipation of battery. In the initial conditions, the material of upper and lower bottom plates was aluminium 5052, the ambient temperature was 25 °C, air was used as the heat transfer medium, the maximum physical time was 300 s, and the cell temperature of 18650 was 41 °C. When the cell spacing Δxdecreased from 10 mm to 2 mm, the maximum temperature of the plane were 38.74 °C, 41 °C, 41 °C and 41 °C. The lowest temperature was 25.16 °C. The highest temperature in the middle of the plane were 36.47 °C, 38.74 °C, 39.87 °C, and 41 °C. The structure of the temperature zone in the middle of the above plane was similar to the mantle plume. Considering the heat dissipation of the battery and the efficiency of the battery space layout, the layout of the battery at Δx=4mmwas better, which provided beneficial experience for the thermal analysis of power battery.
