Les origines de l’abbaye de Vézelay et les débuts de son organisation claustrale (ixe-xiie siècle)
Abstract
An archaeological research programme in the immediate surroundings of the abbey-church at Vézelay has revealed evidence of the beginnings of the medieval monastery’s resettlement after its transfer from the original foundation-place in the valley around 860. These initial elements provide insight into the genesis of a vast organisation of the monastic buildings which are abandoned after the 16th century.
