A paper modeling future CO _2 fertilization of oil palm (OP) resulting in higher palm oil yields is a significant advance. However, climate and disease effects on OP are discussed herein inferring that CO _2 fertilization will not occur significantly. It is important that logical assessments of future climate effects on the palm oil industry occur.
