The effect of administrative decentralization on quality public service delivery in Bahir Dar city administration: the case of Belay Zeleke sub-city
Abstract
This study assessed the effect of administrative decentralization on the quality of public service delivery in the Belay-Zeleke sub-city. To conduct the study, a survey data was collected from 100 samples. The participants were selected based on a systematic random sampling technique. The study employed a correlational research design to exact the effect of administrative decentralization on quality public service delivery. It comes up with the findings that assured human resource management discretion and legislative discretion have a statistically significant positive effect on quality public service delivery. However, procurement management discretion has a statistically insignificant negative impact on quality public service delivery. Generally, the likelihood of rendering quality public service delivery when there is administrative decentralization is 0.734 (73.4%) but the probability of rendering quality public service delivery when there is no administrative decentralization is 0.079 (7.9%). Therefore, quality public services are delivered when administrative decentralization is implemented efficiently and effectively.
