Les Djinns

Abstract

This article presents an unpublished translation into Italian of a poem entitled Les Djinns, taken from Victor Hugo's Orientales (1802-1885). The translation, which is strictly metrical, is followed by a commentary which analyses the procedures used and the main difficulties encountered, especially in terms of versification, in the transition from French to Italian.
