The article analyzes the turn taking of communication passages in the talk show discussions in the Kazakh and Russian languages. Both Kazakh and Russian TV programs are characterized by the synthetic style of turn taking of communicative roles of a presenter and guests in the studio, which combines the features of cooperative, confrontational and neutral styles. However, if the Kazakh talk show programs have smoother, monotone style of turn taking of communicative roles; in Russian talk show programs transition from cooperative communication stage at the beginning of the program to the development of confrontational discussion of the problem has been recorded.
