Objective: To analyze the association of body weight, glucose and oxidized LDL (ox-LDL) on the expression of CD36 in monocytes in Mexican patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D). Methods: 115 individuals without diabetes and patients with TD2 with normal weight and overweight were included in a cross-sectional study. Results: Low expression of CD36 was observed in subjects without diabetes and patients with T2D who were overweight compared to normal-weight. Conclusion: Patients with T2D and subjects with overweight without diabetes presented low levels of CD36 expression.
