Abstract

This text reflects on an event that seems to have left Jean-Louis Genard speechless: the terrorist attacks that struck Brussels in 2016. Recalling that his sociology was able to grasp the issue, our text attempts to make sense of Jean-Louis Genard’s silence, while shedding light on the event by means of theoretical tools that were available to him.
