Abstract

The islands are not just portions of land surrounded by sea. The sectarian space, which constitutes the confine of a primordial element, can also describe a conflict within, between a self that opposes another; or yet, a nation’s inner struggle, trying to ascertain its own boundaries. The archetype we envision regarding the islands lays waste to those features, as way of becoming a reflection to other scopes of significance. It is therefore our main goal to, in view of the possible widening in purport, appraise the work “Comunicação/ Comunication” (1959) by Natália Correia.
