We continue to monitor the direction and pace of socio-economic and socio-political processes in Ukraine. Inside the country, they have already acquired the character of transit from the regime of the Third republic in Ukraine to the Fourth one, and outside they have an equally stable orientation towards integration with the European Union. In recent months, the process has slowed somewhat. The author offers his vision of the causes and possible consequences of this in the light of the structural-demographic theory, of the already existing objective conditions that are likely to determine long-term political trends. It is concluded that there is an urgent need for a more careful and in-depth study of the processes taking place in Ukraine, a critical review of the policies pursued in relation to this country in order to gradually transfer bilateral interstate relations to a re- gime of paired modernization and collective security in Eastern Europe.
