First record of buckler crab Cryptopodia angulata (Decapoda: Brachyura: Parthenopidae) from Chennai coast (Bay of Bengal), India

Abstract

In this study, we report a buckler crab, Cryptopodia angulata, for the first time from Kasimedu fishing harbor, Chennai, Southeast coast of India. This crab occurs only, rarely, in Indian coastal waters. This is the first report from Chennai coastal waters . External characteristics were examined and are illustrated.
