Since its creation, the Cameroonian university intended to actively take part in the national construction. If on one hand we can legitimately appreciate at its true value the efforts expended, it still remains urgent on the other hand for the African Cameroonian researchers to question the pitfalls that faces the intelligentsia. An analysis of this situation shows that these pitfalls have as fundamental base the approximate management of academic freedoms. The regularity of students' contestation movements these last years reveals a "malaise" in the academic freedoms' management. The question of otherness is at the centre of the relations between the young people at university and the university rulers. The present sociological diagnosis has enable us to bring up to date the real problems that will be shameful to ignore.
