This article examines the experience of using systems of computer simulation of technological processes in educational and scientific activities. Due to the ever-increasing digitalization, the use of information technology is becoming a necessary and minimal condition for the development of social structure. The development and implementation of an extensive range of software is the most important tool in the modern world of digital technology. The use of specialized software products in the educational process when performing laboratory work as part of the study of technological disciplines makes it possible to develop general professional competencies in the students. As a result of this, the student acquires the necessary knowledge, skills and possession, as well as the skills to work in this program. From a scientific point of view, the use of modern software has recently become extremely relevant. First of all, this is due to the possibility of visual interpretation on the computer screen of solving problems of almost any complexity: whether it is a graphical visualization of the construction of a part or modeling of a real technological process. The author provides a description of the computer simulation system of foundry processes, and the resulting economic effect from its use in a production environment. The introduction of software into the real technological process has made it possible to optimize the technology, minimize production costs, reduce the duration of the production cycle and reduce financial and time costs. In this regard, the use of information technology and, as a consequence, software in the educational process and scientific activity allows us to remain competitive and in demand both in the market of educational services and among potential employers, and to comply with world scientific trends.
