Morphological characterization and isolation of preantral follicles in Chianina cows reared in Tuscany

Abstract

In the last decade some isolation procedures were developed to obtain an increase in the number of progeny born per dam from a high number of oocytes manipulated in vitro (Telfer, 1996). Regarding these methods their relative performance abilities (number of oocytes isolated) is well known, but there is a lack of adequate information regarding their effectiveness (number of viable oocites after isolation), as well as their use in the italian domestic species.
