Autoridade prática e ambivalência das instituições de justiça no crime-desastre da Barragem de Fundão

Abstract

The article interects social movements research agenda and the Brazilian agenda on the judicialization of politics and public policies, above all. We argue that the concept of practical authority (Abers & Keck 2016) sheds light on both the dynamics of correcting injustices suffered in the context of Samarco’s crime-disaster (Mariana, MG, 2015), and on the ambivalence of institutional representatives. As a whole, the text asserts that the critique of institutional voluntarism is heuristically salutary to the research agenda on social movements’ their interactions and their effects on public policies.
