Evidence-based approach to the choice of antimicrobials in practice of pediatric dentistry
Abstract
Significant incidence of complicated forms of caries in children’s dental practice dictates the need to find new preparations and methods for more effective treatment of chronic apical periodontitis. Many antibacterial agents have short-term effects and are ineffective when exposed to microbial flora of the root canal, which subsequently leads to complications and recurrence of the disease. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of the local effects of ozone and some antiseptics on the system of root canals in permanent teeth with incomplete root formation in chronic apical inflammation. The comparative analysis of the effectiveness of the antimicrobial effects of drugs and the combined effects of ozone on the root canal microbiota in permanent teeth with incomplete root formation on the basis of the culture method found that traditional drug treatment of the root canal system is inadequate in relation to the aggressive microflora of root dentin. The present study confirms the significant efficiency techniques consistent use transkanalnyh medication, as each antiseptic effect on the different range of microorganisms.
