Theory of Family Isnad by Joseph Schacht and the Fabrication of Hadith=جوزف شاخت کا نظریہ خاندانی اسناد اوروضع حدیث
Abstract
Joseph Schacht is most prominent figure among those orientalists who have studied Hadith Literature in detail, and have posts certain theories about authenticity, authority and safe transmission of Hadith literature from the Prophet of Islam's (PBAH) to its compilabor age. Schacht opines that all the traditions are fake and their chain of narrators (lsnad) is fabricated. He named it "common link theory". His assumption is that some very renowned early transmitters shoud be held responsible for this fabrication. In this connection, Schacht has proposed that this fabrication of brad was done very meticulously by adding the names of family members i.e. from son to father, father to grandfather etc; so that no one can object on its authenticity, Schacht terms this kind of chain of narrators as "Family isnad ". He claims that family Isnad are all spurious. This article is intended to highlight the integrity and authenticity of Family Isnad. Eversince that inception of Islam, there have been numerous antagonistic attacks on primary pillars of Islam, kiddish (The tradition of the Prophet (PBAH) being no exception, has been under grave objections from non-Muslims, and even among Muslims too.
