Problem Solving in BNCC: reflections for its insertion in the curriculum and in Mathematics teaching at Elementary School

The present article searched to answer the following questions: What is understood from the problem solving in the BNCC for the teaching and learning of Mathematics at Elementary School? In what way the problem solving could be approached in the classroom, having in sight its insertion in the curriculum? Of theoretical and documental character, we present our reflections about the BNCC and how problem solving was presented for the teaching and learning of Mathematics. Though the expressive quantity of skills that involve problem solving, the BNCC would direct the students in the application that we know and competences to solve the problems. Considering that a clear approaching suggestion was not identified, it was pointed that the four presented stages of teaching organization may help teachers to structure their classes. It was concluded the need that the teacher aim to fundament one’s practices in case of the focus being work with problem solving.
