Tetralogy of Fallot and aortopulmonary window: Diagnosis and management
Abstract
Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) in association with aorto pulmonary window (APW) is a very rare congenital cardiac defect. Only a handful of cases have been reported in world literature. Though TOF can be diagnosed with fair accuracy on echocardiography, APW may pose a challenge. Risk of rapid development of pulmonary hypertension is a potential hurdle in surgical correction of this defect. We wish to discuss a case of TOF with APW as well as echocardiography diagnosis and surgical management.
