The vital way and scientific activity of the professor, outstanding botanist Sigizmund Semyonovich Kharke which are elucidated. The contribution of S.S. Kharkevich in creation of botanical and geographical plots and Herbarium of M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Gardens of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is shown.
