Some characteristics of regenerated gears with cemented working surfaces of cogs exposed to wear and abrasion

Abstract

The paper deals with the results of testing identical samples of regenerated gears with cemented working surfaces of cogs, put out of exploitation because of excessive wear and abrasion. Geometric measures, profiles, directions of flanks and cog radial eccentricity, quality of working and hardness of regenerated contact surfaces of cogs are controlled. The hardness of the cog cross section and the quality of welded-on layer are examined by defectoscopic tests as well as the microstructure of regenerated cogs. Finally the paper analyses the regeneration efficiency referred to completely new manufacturing.
