STUDY OF A MECHANISM FOR GENERATING CISSOID

Abstract

In the paper, data on the geometric construction of the cissoid are given and some mechanisms that generate it are presented. The analysis of a mechanism created by Artobolevskii is detailed, finding its limitations: it generates a single branch of the cissoid and in addition to the established geometric conditions, there are two other conditions: the crank angle has to be cycled between 00 and 400 and one side of the mechanism must be greater than or equal to those equal sides of the mechanism. Many examples are given.
