Representation of the Image of the Great Patriotic War in V.V. Putin's Speeches at the Beginning of the First Presidential Term: A Memorial Turn

Abstract

The article is devoted to the research of Putin's representation of the image of the Great Patriotic War in the first two years of his presidency. The author of the research records the turn in the Russian politics of memory and the moment of change of the historical narrative by the Russian political leader.As a result, it is concluded that it wasthe head ofstate at the beginning of the new Millennium who set the impetus and vector for the implementation of the modern Russian policy of memory, one of the central elements of which was the representation of the image of The Great Patriotic War.
