Relation between Landform and Land Use of Quixadá Municipality – Ceará State

Abstract

The municipality of Quixadá is located on the Sertão central of Ceará State and is subject to typical environmental conditions of semiarid. This study aimed to evidence the importance of the Geomorphology applied to geospatial organization of municipa­lity of Quixadá. This study was realized in three steps, as follows: The geomorphological mapping, Ross (1992) was the landform taxonomy methodology used, the study area was classified to the first to 4th level taxonomic in scale of the 1:40.000; mapping of use and occupation classes of study area; to demonstrate the spatial distribution of the typologies of use and occupation of geomorphological units.
