Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a kind of inflammatory bowel disease. Female patients with UC may face nutritional problems during pregnancy, therefore, the management of nutritional status and disease conditions is important to pregnant women with UC. For example, nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP) lasting until the middle and late stages of pregnancy can further aggravate the difficulty of nutrition management during pregnancy in UC patients. In this paper, we report a case of nutritional management of a patient with UC and persistent NVP during pregnancy, with the aim of sharing our experience in dealing with complex nutritional problems during pregnancy.
