This article discusses the forms of trade union organization who were present at the oil basin area of San Jorge Gulf during the first half of the 20th century. The development of the work examines strategies of working organization that deployed in the different moments of the period, the modes of expression of the social protest, the type of demand focused on employer entities and the characteristics of the relationship unfolded with the State and its institutions. The proposal suggests a periodization which organizes various cycles that can disaggregate the time considered according to dominant trends within the trade unions in each of them. Finally rehearses a look together on working-class institutions linked to the various sectors of economic activity which organized the life of the territory in this historical context.
