Land of the boundary, or land without borders, the term of Frontierland suits the writer Vassilis Alexakis and all the writers who passed accross borders of their country and their nation through writing and poetry. Writers born Greek, Serbian, Bulgarian, Czech, Romanian but have turned into a real European and trans-European phenomenon. Then, theese writers form the pantheon of European and international literature. In this analysis I will deal the problem of the European and transnational identity of the prism of migration and exile that are in the center of my research and that concern almost all Balkan writers. For that, I will analyze literary means by which the identity crisis driven by migration and exile is presented and discussed in the work of Vassilis Alexakis, what ideological and ontological questioning it awakens, and what are the answers proposed by Alexakis who has his own share of migration experience.
