Plant regeneration and Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of Vacuolar H+-ATPase c Subunit Gene in hybrid poplar populus davidiana Dode × P. bollena Lauche
Abstract
An efficient regeneration and transformation system was developed for hybrid poplar populus davidiana Dode × P. bollena Lauche. Several factors, such as a competent regeneration protocol, antibiotics, bacterial concentration, infection time have been shown to affect transformation efficiency. It is the first report describing an efficient protocol for Vacuolar H+-ATPase c Subunit Gene from salt tolerant plant Puccinellia chinampoensis, which transformed into populus. Stable transgene integration was confirmed by the expression of GFP fusion proteins in leaves, stem and root for populus.
