Key points Biventricular strain decreased in T2DM patients with preserved EF. Suboptimal glycemic control aggravated the deterioration of biventricular strain in T2DM patients. HbA1c was independently associated with biventricular strain after adjustment for risk factors. Relationship of HbA1c with LV or RV strain wasn’t mediated by the other ventricular.
