Development Course Overview and Future Prospect of Road Rubber-tyred Guidance System
Abstract
Objective Road rubber-tyred guidance system is officially launched for operation in some cities worldwide. To gain a more detailed and comprehensive understanding of this system, it is necessary to systematically summarize its development history and technical characteristics at different stages. Method According to the guidance methods and formation modes of the road rubber-tyred guidance system, the development of which can be divided into four stages: Stage 1.0, Stage 2.0, Stage 3.0 and Stage 4.0. The main technical characteristics, application scenarios and application cases in each stage are analyzed individually. The distinct technical characteristics exhibited in each stage are summarized. A prospective analysis of Stage 5.0 for future road rubber-tyred guidance system is provided Result & Conclusion The development course of this system through the four stages represents a gradual progression from non-guided to rigid guidance, from rigid guidance to flexible guidance, and from single formation to multi-formation, demonstrating characteristics of orbitalized train operation mode, simplified infrastructure tendency, intelligent guidance mode, composite vehicle lane use, and incrementing formation mode. The Stage 5.0 system should possess technical characteristics of virtual formation and flexible guidance. Trunk line sections, through virtual coupling between vehicles, will increase transport capacity and enhance transportation efficiency, meeting the needs of urban public transportation with the characteristics of ′one-trunk multi-branch′.
