Social imaginary marriage on violence

Abstract

This article is the result of research that advance students of Specialization in Education and Family Guidance of the University Foundation Unimonserrate and aims to present social imaginary identified in the first semester students of Social Work of the University Corporation Minuto de Dios, Soacha Regional Centre, regarding the physical and psychological manifestations of conjugal violence. From research conducted from a qualitative approach, a survey and a focus group was applied, the results allowed explore beliefs about domestic violence, describing the manifestations of physical violence and psychological characterize the manifestations of violence recognize. The findings reveal conceptual gaps on the issue of domestic violence and ignorance of the regulations in force in Colombia. Also, the convergence between the findings with theory and previous research is presented in terms of the social imaginary. Finally, personal and professional contributions to the research team designed and proposed intervention and education specialists and family counseling is expose.
