Moebius Syndrome Associated with Pectoral Muscle Hypoplasia: Case Report
Abstract
Moebius syndrome, a rare congenital disorder of varying severity, involves multiple cranial nerves and is characterized predominantly with bilateral or unilateral paralysis of the facial and abducens nerves. Clinical signs and symptoms of the syndrome usually appear during the newborn period. Moebius syndrome is frequently associated with abnormalities of other systems. Of these, abnormalities of the musculoskeletal system predominate and they are usually unilateral. The current report presents a young male with Moebius syndrome, which was associated with bilateral pectoralis muscle hypoplasia
