STATISTICAL STUDY ON THE PREVALENCE OF DENTAL LESIONS OF THE ANTERIOR SEGMENT OF THE DENTAL ARCHES AND THE CALL FOR TREATMENT FOR THESE LESIONS –PART II

Abstract

Aim of the study The purpose of the study commencement consists in: evaluation of population’s oral health, on categories and age groups; determination of the local factor impact on health; assessment of dental care usage level in Moldova region; provision of statistical data regarding the oral health of the population in Romania; implementation of evaluation systems and of the data processing standard, in order to achieve oral health programs.Material and methods A clinical record to contain data regarding the following section was created.Data collection and statistical processing were performed starting with Oct. 2010 until Nov. 2016. Regarding the IT level, the study involved a series of logistically and chronologically distinct stages. Results The study lot is represented by 646 patients who presented themselves in the Dental Prosthesis Clinic at the ”Gr. T. Popa” Faculty of Dental Medicine of Iasi, in a 5-year period (2010-2016) The Study falls within the cohort method as the lot is made of the patients at the presentation and does not concern individualization according to the environment, social level, age group, lesions, etc. The average age of the lot is 29,72 years with a standard deviation of 8,28 given by the high number of patient up to the age of 30. Among the patients who had the maxillary frontal area affected, 609 patients (94,27%), it is concluded that 448 (69,35%) have the inferior group intact and 161 patients (24,92%) have the inferior group affected. Conclusions The loco-regional aspects and the dento-periodontal clinical and biological indices, as well as the mucous bony ones dictate the design of the final prosthetic construction and the choice of the maintenance, support and stabilization elements.
