THE BASIS OF SELF-EVALUATION OF THE LESSON: LINGUO-DIDACTIC ASPECTS
Abstract
This article is devoted to analysis of self-evaluation as a component of professional development of a modern teacher. In the context of common trend, self-evaluation is of great importance for changing teacher’s professional standards during the last years. It belongs to those main competencies, which give an opportunity to those, who teach how to realize your weaknesses and strengths, to think and act critically, to admit gaps in your professional activity. Various evaluational and reflexive methods, including self-evaluation, are a component of pedagogical routine in many European countries. To research its main theses is the purpose of this work. It is defined, that self-evaluation belongs to internal evaluations, which are held by teacher himself, estimating his own activity. It shows pros and cons of this kind of analysis of the lesson: on the one hand, no one notices all weaknesses and strengths of his occupation so well, as a teacher, who hold it, no one, accept teacher, can so deeply define all successful moments and gaps; on the other hand, self-evaluation does not belong to those kinds of analysis of the lesson, which give an opportunity to conduct critically a check of your own activity on example of a specific lesson. It is indicated in this work, which components of occupation can be self-evaluated; which ways of self-analysis exist; which of the important competencies are acquired by the teacher during the conduction of self-evaluation; some examples where and how to find out how to apply this kind of self-improvement in Germany properly were given. Author reveals the essence of self-evaluation as a method, which makes reviewing your own pedagogical activity and defining its quality possible. During evaluation teacher gets an opportunity to recollect his emotions during the analyzed lesson, his failures and successes, results of working during the lesson and then summarize this information, compere received data with goals outlined before the lesson, make appropriate conclusions and take them into account in your further activity. Self-evaluation is a key of self-improvement for modern teacher.
