HYDRONIMIC NAMING OF WATER BODIES OF POSEMYE

Abstract

The authors show that Russian folk dialects are the basis for the formation of hydronimy. Dialectal and etymological dictionaries offer several versions of interpretations of the individual categories. To establish the truth accurate knowledge of the realities associated with the studied hydro objects is required. The article made the first attempt of distribution of the Posemye hydronyms into groups with different motivational characteristics.
