Effects of Samhwangsasimtang aqua-acupuncture at gansoo(B18) and chungwan(CV12) on antihyperlipidemic and antioxidant were investigated in rat fed high fat diet. Concentrations of triglyceride, free fatty acids, lipoprotein and glucose in plasma showed a tendency to decrease in the aqua-acupuncture groups. In plasma lipid composition, total cholesterol and LDL- cholesterol showed a tendency to decrease in aqua-acupuncture groups, however the values of HDL-cholesterol showed no significantly different in the treatment groups. Concentration of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances(TBARS) in plasma and liver showed a low in the aqua-acupuncture groups. The values of glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) and catalase(CAT) activity showed a tendency to increase in aqua-acupuncture groups. However the values of superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity showed no significantly different in the treatment groups.
