The scientific path of S. Zaremba (on the materials of the personal fond of the Institute of Manuscript of V. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine)

Abstract

The article reviews the documents of the personal archive of S. Zaremba, the famous Ukrainian historian and regional ethnographer, director of the Center for monument studies of the NAS of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Society for Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments. The archive is deposited in the fonds of the Institute of Manuscript of V. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. Based on the documents, the main stages of the researcher’s scientific activity are covered. Special attention is paid to the scientist’s works, unpublished due to various circumstances of life. It is noted that S. Zaremba was occupied with the active protection and study of monuments of cultural and historical heritage of Ukraine, both within the country and abroad
