Safiye Hanim from Bursa and the Deed of Trust of the Mi‘rāciyye Foundation

Abstract

It is well-known that the subject of the Mi'raj is a common theme in works of literature, particularly those of a historical and biographical nature. For centuries, thousands of works in verse and prose have been written in different parts of the world and in different languages about the Prophet and the love and devotion for him. This is one of the most profound and fertile subjects of religious mystical Turkish literature. A noteworthy contribution to the subject was also made by Safiye Hanim from Bursa.
