Investments in The Sport and Leisure Function by Municipalities in Pernambuco: Analysis of the Variable Political Party

Abstract

In the field of public policies for sport and leisure there is a gap concerning the participation of political parties in the distribution of political policies, especially regarding the municipal environment. This descriptive paper aimed to analyze the behavior of political parties that administered prefectures of the state of Pernambuco in 2013 in terms of absolute and per capita investments in the Sport and Leisure Function (SLF). It has not been possible to identify a pattern of investments in SLF per party. In general terms, all parties invest in in SLF.
