This contribution analyses the performance of multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) detectors under correlated channels. Two MIMO detection principles, namely minimum mean squared error (MMSE) detector – with and without ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) – and the lattice reduction (LR) technique, are analysed and compared with the maximum likelihood (ML) limit under specific scenarios of interest: (a) increasing spectral efficiency, by increasing number of antennas; (b) increasing correlated fading channel indexes. In this context, the ML MIMO detector performance are used as reference in order to compare how the performances of those sub-optimal detectors are close to the optimum performance.
