ASSESSING THE HUMAN FACTOR IN TRUCK DRIVING
Abstract
Human factors assessment tools for truck driving, appear to overlook the driver’s relationship to the driving experience. Whilst most of the assessment tools are useful and have a degree of value, there are factors that have not been considered. To completely decompose truck driving and identify all the elements will require a purpose-built assessment tool that aligns itself with normal driving behaviour must demonstrate how a truck driver moves between each series of sub-tasks, as well as making allowances for any issues or consequences that may eventuate from undertaking any action.
