The electroanalytic function of copper(II) oxide nanoparticles, disposed over the glassy carbon electrode, in the electrochemical detection of hydrazine in strongly basic media gets its phenomenological mechanism. This mechanism, based on experimental data, is also described mathematically and the respective method is analyzed by means of linear stability theory and bifurcation analysis. The model investigation confirms the suggested mechanism and is confirmed by experimental data of sensor function. The oscillatory and monotonic instabilities´ occurrence was also verified.
