The objective of this research has been to analyze and assess the perceptions of the elite sportswomen in their insufficient presence in sports. The used methodology allows to examine and interpret the thoughts and beliefs of a cohort of high-performance athletes. The instrument used for the treatment of the data has been the computer program AQUAD 7. This study discusses different modalities of participant’s relationship (handball as a collective sport, athletics as an individual sport, and judo as a competition between two individuals). The results show that the female athletes perceive situations of gender discrimination and absence of equal opportunities in career development. The conclusions of this study suggest proposing a change in policies aimed at effective equality in women’s sports career.
