Youth denied. Visions about drugs and violence in Juarez

Abstract

This article analyzes the creation of a local contemporary imaginary amongst the youth of Juarez. Here, I present the results of the secondary research objective: to define the constitutive elements of the social imaginary about youth among the adult population of Ciudad Juarez. The conclusions are derived from information obtained by two methods: an open standardized interview and an in-depth interview. The research achieved finding a common definition and notions about youth, highlighting two: drug addicted and unproductive.
