Typologie et traduction des noms d'institutions

Abstract

After defining the names of institutions as a category of named entities, we present some general problems raised by this category of names in relation to their translation from French into Greek. Based on a corpus of data collected from the Internet, we propose a typology of these names on the domain of their activity and then describe the various procedures that are used for their translation. Finally, we examine some issues about variation in relation to automatic recognition and translation.
